More good news

Today I received no less than 5 packages, all sent out July 2. So figure on about a week to get packages to me.

No Netflix yet, though. That puzzles me.

Since enclosed in one of the boxes was my big green Bible, that meant I didn't need to use holy cards as bookmarks in my little Bible. They are now on the wall over the head of my bed.

SPC M and I volunteered to be mail clerks, so we'll take the class for that on Monday. I also have to get an AJ driver's license, which pleases me not since I hate driving. Oh well, that's the price I pay for getting to the mail first.

I'm getting very pissed off at the people who whine about the DFAC. The food is good, it's not all fried, and you can eat as much as you like. There is Baskin Robbins ice cream and a bunch of fresh-baked cookies. We're more blessed with food than at least half the world and this amount of ingratitude over the "shitty choices" makes me want to scream.

I ate better deployed than I do at home.

Granted, by the end of my deployment I was so sick of food in general that I was living on grilled cheese sandwiches and fruit.

They don't have plain grilled cheese here. They only have grilled cheese with ham. And I hate ham.

Does Netflix send all the way out there?

Yes. One of our captains used to get Netflix in Iraq.

For me, the only real issue was lack of fruit/veggies/stuff that's not fried (at least at our DFAC, this is an issue). And a lot of that has improved. And we have other options.

Have fun with the mail clerk class!

We have fresh fruits and vegetables aplenty, which has been making my tummy happy.

I was one of those DFAC complainers, sorry. The lack of choices week in and out bothered me. At first it seems like a lot, but really it's the same menu every single week. Which led to me not eating, thus losing weight. ;)

Ugh, I'm sorry, I don't wish mail-duty on anyone.

I'm fine with the same menu week in and week out. The only thing I wish they had was decent bread.

I absolutely loved doing the mail when I was the mail clerk for my unit. If I finished the mail soon enough, I could take one long ass lunch break. Good times!

I will be putting together a package for you soon. Did you get my letter yet?

No, since there is only one mail clerk right now, he only gets it every other day.
