Mood swingy

Body chemistry is mucking with the brains, so I'm off-center to begin with.

Mei-Mei went to the vet yesterday for a routine teeth cleaning. On awakening, she had elevated kidney levels (weakening kidneys is pretty standard in cats her age) and had not peed, so Steve opted to leave her there over night to get some IV fluids. I've been assured by brotherskeeper1 who has had many, many a cat, that this can happen but it's normally not anything to worry about. From her mouth to God's ear.

We had Mandatory Fun today. Volleyball. I hate volleyball; I'm too short for it, it hurts my hands, and always got me picked on in high school. Many terrible mornings in the school gym were relived, fortunately only for about an hour and a half.

I'm currently hiding in my cave because I'm waiting to hear from Steve, who won't pick up Mei-Mei until about 8 his time, 6 mine.

I am setting my sights on the December LSAT, which I can take in Kuwait City. That gives me six months to study and the books are in the Ed Center.

Maybe I'll watch some Gundam as a security blanket.

Except I'll be taking it with an M-16 at my feet.

Which strikes me as a fantastically bad idea.

Yes, prayers for Mei-Mei.

I tried studying for the LSAT a while back, and the logic portions just twist my head. And, even after studying, I was only scoring a 144 or so. Which - just abysmal. So, I'm now getting the message from God that Law is not my path.

However, I have the Powerscore Logic Games and Analytical Comprehension books, as well as 1 book of 10 practice tests, and 1 book of 'how to study for the LSAT' by LSAC, with 3 practice tests. Those tests I did in pencil, but the rest are pretty pristine.

Do you want them? I can ship them to you in Kuwait. I have no use for them here. I can even erase all the pencil marks.

That would be much appreciated, thanks. I can message you my address.

Awesome!

Also, if you could tell me the best way to ship them quickly and inexpensively, that'd be great. I'm thinking that 'book rate' might be the way to go, but I don't know if they do that to shipments over there.

Since you said the vet tested Mei-Mei's systems, he would not have put her under anesthesia at her age if he thought she was too big of a risk being diabetic.

they also were doing things like lung x-rays. it was a very thorough workup and while it was hugely expensive (high three digits) as I said it did all the tests she'll need for at least a year in one swoop.

It will be good to know the status of everything. This may be the last time they put her under anesthesia due to her age plus the added risk associated with diabetes. I can believe Mei-Mei's vet bill is huge as health care and labs for them is about the same as for people. Years ago with all these cats I I thought about taking out a 'feline family health insurance policy' but I've never had huge vet bills.

My Zero is a never been sick healthy 11 year old male and they did not want to declaw him because of his age and being a risk for the anesthetic. Correction, he's 12 now and still healthy. He eats well and aside from having homocidal traits and liking to waterboard, he's just fine. The declawing last year only disabled his feet until they healed up.

I was thinking this might be the last time the vet would clean her teeth. In the mean time, she has recommended that we use Q-tips to clean her teeth. I'm glad to hear that as a solution, even those kitty toothbrushes are really big.

I agree with bork 100%. The logic "games" are what killed me and drove my score down, and everyone I know who took it had problems with them.

I may have a big folder of practice tests a professor gave me. If I find it while I'm packing I'll gladly ship them to you if you want them. :)

Praying to St. Francis for Mei-Mei.

That's weird - I think the logic stuff is the fun part.

Oh Mandatory Fun, how I don't miss it! My platoon sergeant thought it would be good times once to play volleyball with a medicine ball. I was not happy about that at all and others voiced their dissent, but she would not listen to common sense. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but no one really tried, either. LOL
