Viernes Gigante

Today a long-awaited box from Steve came in. It had some more civilian clothes in it, plus a plethora of pocket packs of facial tissues and the whole first season of "Ghost Hunters" from seki_raku. Recently in the evening I've been wishing I could pop in an episode because that's a show I can watch randomly whenever without getting tired of it.

I also have Ghost in the Shell from Netflix, so I'll get back to "Giant Robot Red Baron" later in the week.

I stood in line in the MWR building for an hour and a half so I could see "Half Blood Prince". This is one of the longer books, so I knew they'd be cutting things out, but when it's at the expense of scenes that weren't in the book or didn't need to be in to that extent, I got annoyed. I really didn't need all the teen drama included, teen drama drives me up a wall. I still enjoyed it, but I did have that complaint. Nobody went with me, citing that the theatre would be packed. I think a lot of people had the same logic with the end result that the place had lots of empty seats.

After that I went to Taco Bell for dinner. Chicken Burrito Supreme tasted like a Chicken Burrito Supreme, but it was half the size of one in the States. The worker had a shirt that said "Taco Bell Iraq" and I saw there was Taco Bell Iraq swag about which Steve declared, "I MUST have it!" So, next Friday when I get paid.

Still waiting on my tin whistle.

What do they have that says Taco Bell Iraq? The one here at VBC has nothing.

The poster shows (does not mean they have) a soda travel mug, pens, baseball cap, coasters and I forgot what else.

Shame they can't export some of the little mom and pop taco places. They'd like us a whole lot better over a bowl of fresh menudo.

We had a Burger King and Popeye's. We also had some Italian place I had never seen before in the States and the marinara sauce tasted like alcohol (and that didn't even make it good :( ).

P.S. - Are you still a member of mil_wives or did you leave?

I left because it was way too high traffic, and the posts were nothing that interested me.

That was my main problem with the movie too. There were a lot of the teen romance scenes and they seriously cut down on some of the really fucking good scenes from the book, or cut them out completely! I was really irritated by it and felt it to be mostly a long boring movie.
