Although Mei-Mei is not present....

I am so far today feeling pretty content. Yesterday MAJ T, Major Headache, LT B and I went downtown because Major Headache needed some stuff so she can go home (tough boxes, post office hours, etc). We intended to go to the UAE DFAC but MAJ T looked plaintive and asked if we could go to the barbecue DFAC and everyone agreed.

So Major T had pulled pork, pulled beef, green bean salad, potato and ice cream. He was walking around happily rubbing his tummy hours later.

Me, I went to the PX and sprung $25 on a foam mattress. My cot is now way, way more comfortable. I took my vinyl mat and put it on an empty cot. The thing is soft, but I was tired of waking up with a sweaty butt every morning and the warm weather is only just starting.

Time to get dress and head downtown for Mass. See y'all later.

Latermas! And I only missed you by five minutes! I take that back; what I read as 9:32a was actually 9:52 so I missed you by...40 minutes.

Okay, call me silly (hee - you get permission), but have you ever considered sleeping on flannel sheets? They're good for both winter and summer, according to the experts.

Yes, seriously.

It's amazing to think that the sheets one pairs up with a comforter (and, in my case, TWO fleece blankies) in the wintertime can also be used all by their lonesome in hot weather. Apparently, your body stays cool on/under them in the summer.

Mind you, if your sheets are winter specific and have little raindeer on them or some such, they'll look a wee bit out of place in the summertime.
