Laptop woes

While I was in Afghanistan, my laptop started making some loud grinding noises. I finally got around to sending it to HP to be repaired. I hadn't been using the laptop much on returning home because the sound was such a pain, and the machine was heating up badly, but that doesn't mean I'm not used to having it readily available.

For instance, I feel like installing some new music in the iTunes. I keep looking at Amazon and then remembering "Oh yeah. I can't do that until the computer's back." I want to look something up and the same thing happens. No surfing the web while having my coffee until it returns.

I also seem to have caught a cold. Yay.

I've had my HP laptop for almost three years now and I've had the overheating problem. I ended up buying one of those cooling pads and replaced the battery. I've heard from a friend recently who works on them that it's more common to see problems as the laptop ages.

It's not so much the overheating as the grinding noise that's the problem. I have a great cooling pad.
