Soon to come...

I went to the eye doctor today, and he confirmed my suspicion that I do indeed need bifocals. Steve got them a couple of years ago, when he was 40. Another friend got them before she was 30. I guess I could only be a hold-out for so long. I've sent to Zenni Optical for them. I've been having migraines again these past two days, so I hope that the new glasses will help with those. The one I had yesterday was so bad I was ready to scream.

Steve's taking tomorrow off for our anniversary. We went to Outback with Ryan tonight. Since I have to go to bed early tomorrow night (need to be at drill in Orange County by 0730 on Saturday) I suggested we go do an anniversary lunch.

So this time we got to have my birthday and anniversary together, so the Army will retaliate by having me in Orange County for nine days. Can't win for losing there.

Are you going to get invisible bifocals?

Oh, you mean the ones with no visible line? Yes. They're called "progressives" btw.

Hey, let me know how the bifocals go. My recollection is that optometrists usually mark on the dummy lens in the spectacle frames the height at which the lens needs to change prescription - so I'm really interested to know how the Zenni ones turn out. I've been hesitant to recommend Zenni to friends who have bifocal prescriptions.

I've been happy with the ones I got from Zenni.

My eye doctor wanted to put me in bifocals, but since I wear contact lenses I'm just using drug-store reading glasses as needed. But the more I need them, the less convenient it is to keep them handy, so now that I have vision insurance again I might try bifocal contact lenses.

Good luck with yours, and the headaches. And happy anniversary!
