Today is Remembrance Day...

Or Veterans Day in the United States. For obvious reasons this is the first day that I am personally doing anything for it. Steve didn't have any appointments or deadlines, so we took the day off and went to Coronado. We rented one of those pedal-car things and pedaled it for a while along the bike paths. We found an unoccupied lot so I sent the info to our real estate agent. We got a discount for me being a vet. We went to Spiro's Gyros for lunch and I got a discount for being a vet. We went to Coronado Cupcakery where I got a chocolate cupcake with cinnamon frosting, but I didn't inquire if there was a discount. I enjoyed my cupcake a lot.

Now I'm packing my bag for drill weekend--it's a four day weekend for the fulltime Army but not me. Medical SRP too. Whoopie. Shots I don't want or need for the lose.

Happy Veterans/Remembrance Day to Nathan, Amanda, Paul, Jen, John, Danielle, Simon and anyone else who is or loves a vet.

Another service-woman on my flist just got her wedding dress complimentary for being a vet (she served in Iraq.)

Thanks for doing what you do!

Thanks, though as a (mostly) weekend warrior in the Cold War I don't really feel like I deserve it. Glad you had a good Armistice Day!

I was thinking of all the vets that I know earlier today, and you were one of them. I'm glad to hear that you had a good Remembrance Day.
