Busy

Last weekend was a quiet weekend at home for me. Steve is in Arizona cleaning and painting. He'll be back this weekend so I can take off for seven days of Army fun. We have a change of command pending, so we're trying to push out more discharge packets and get our shop in order. Ma'am is moving back to the 78th and we're getting a new JAG, plus we're getting a new brigade commander.

The weekend before that was Trothmoot, the Troth's annual meeting. It was at Tehachapi Mountain Park in Kern County, 6,000 feet up. I didn't think I'd enjoy myself, but I did. I went to as many workshops and rituals as I could, met new friends, and enjoyed the nature. Only problem was that the site wasn't friendly at all to disabled people, being very hilly. I'd driven up with Dreya, who had her knee surgery in April, and she and our elderly lady Sandy had a hard time getting out of the cabin, much less to any events.

I came out with a couple of really nice t-shirts, some sagas that aren't available in English usually and a couple of pieces of jewelry.

I've talked to Retention about getting a new job out in Arizona, but I don't know if they've written back. The Navy broke my CAC card when I was working in their courthouse and even a replacement card can't get me back into the DoD system. I'll fix that on Monday, at Los Alamitos.

So I'll work Monday-Sunday in Los Al, then back to my usual grind on Coronado until the following Friday. After that, I'll be in Arizona with Steve for a week. Our housewarming will be the 29th, which I hope isn't too soon. It's going to be HOT, and there may be monsoons since 'tis the season. Well, gotta get used to it.

Don't they have conditional discharges in the Reserves any more, where they basically turn you loose to find your own unit wherever it is you're going?

To maintain a "good year" you have to RST any drills you miss. So I may RST at the units I'm shopping.

Now, if you're released, good luck getting back in.

Yeah, I meant "conditional release". Geez, it's been a while. :(
Good luck getting the RSTs in.
