Our Hotel

http://www.lafayettehotelsd.com/

We loved our stay there. The hotel was built in 1946, and was where Hollywood stars fled to to get away from it all. (San Diego was once a provincial boondock of a city!) I've already written about the Red Fox Room, a bar attached to the hotel whose interior is an actual Tudor pub that was purchased, dismantled, and sent by ship to be installed.

We had one of the poolside rooms. We wish we'd had more time; our room's French doors opened onto the pool, and we could have had breakfast there, if we had a free morning. The hotel also has two theatres, a hotel bar, and a restaurant whose prices didn't look bad at all. The whole place has a post WW2 theme still. We are thinking we'd like to come back and stay there for a short vacation; just the hotel alone would provide entertainment, plus we have Pomegranate Russian/Georgian restaurant right across the street.

Ooohhh... I'll put this down on a possible list for a trip out to SD. We both want to go for a visit soon. Maybe this winter when our lives settle down.
