How cold is it?

I made myself a cup of tea about five minutes ago.

It's lukewarm now.

americanstd sneered at me that I didn't mind this kind of temperature back in Canada. "In Canada we have HEAT!" I snapped back.

I was going to make cookies anyway, but now I have the added incentive of warming the house a bit with the gas oven.

It's snowing in the Antelope Valley about 2 hours north of me.

We've had the coldest temps in daylight hours that I can recall since before I moved here.

I feel like my internal temperature regulator is all broken. I bitch about it being too hot in the summer, now it's too cold... wtf?

There's a hot air blower in the living room that is expensive to run and only heats up that one room for a few minutes.

Break out the black sleeping bag thingy!!

If it makes you feel better (and it might), it's freaking 30 degrees here now, which may seem pathetic as compared to Canada but is alarmingly cold for Texas. I have heat, though, except in the room where I sleep where both windows overpower the heater and keep the room subarctic.

But it must be colder in Space. ^_^

May I suggest moving to a different room to sleep? Putting up a tent, if you own one, is an option. Don't laugh; I knew an artist who was cleaning up an industrial loft and that's what she did while it was still filthy.

30 degrees is just a shade under freezing which for Montreal (Canada is a big place with variable weather systems) is "about right" for a daytime temperature.

Nay, for I sleep like the dead in the cold and I adore hibernation. ^_^

May I suggest baked potatoes?
Because any food that retains heat will make you feel better. And they taste good, too.

You should get yourself one of those electric mug rests. Barring that, an insulated cup, 'cuz I don't think anybody makes mug cozies.

It still feels weird to see you writing about cold weather down there, but nobody said North American weather patterns make any sense.
