Last week

The LDS service was a letdown. Only two people showed up. Mormons don't have a dedicated clergy, so a layman leads every service. This time it was MAJ S, the JAG normally stationed on this base. That was weird. So all we did was sing a hymn (a crucifixion hymn, in Easter, how perverse!), say a couple of prayers, and I watched them do their communion. Mormons use water and bread since wine is verboten. MAJ S was there in the big push to Baghdad in 2003 and said that he and a brother Mormon, faced with this, pulled out a lemon poppyseed pound cake from an MRE and did communion with that. I was moved by this sign of faith even though of course they were Doing It Wrong.

Today I became a notary, did a lot of shredding, and wrote Powers of Attorney. Go me.

When do you get back?

About that texting thing, I'll text when I am about 99% less grumpy.

I doubt if they use "hosts". I think they use just normal bread. The meaning of Mormon communion is completely different from the Catholic, Anglican, Orthodox or Lutheran too.
