Weekend Update

Granted, it's still a wee bit early.

Saturday I slept in blessedly. After doing a little bit of housecleaning, Steve said there was a music festival in the park down the street from us. We started out in bright sunshine and mid-70s temperatures, and found no festival there. After puttering around on the Google on his phone, Steve found that the festival had either been moved to UCSD or cancelled, the Google wasn't sure which.

We'd seen shawarmas on TV the night before, and Steve had said he'd wanted one, so we went over to the Lebanese place (I think it's called Mama's?) on Alabama at El Cajon. As we were waiting for our food, the sky suddenly became gray and overcast and the temperature dropped an easy ten degrees. We hustled home and spent the evening watching Netflix. I've had a hankering for old 1960s horror movies, and the Italian Boris Karloff vehicle "Black Sabbath" is good stuff.

Today Steve went to go meet with a high school pal in Temecula, so I betook myself over to Thrift Trader to go through their $1 CD sale they have in their parking lot on the weekends. My take included Louis Armstrong's "Mack the Knife", Concrete Blonde's "Walking in London" and Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams", which I lost many, many years ago.

I watched "Lady in Black" and it's a GOOD movie. So happy Hammer didn't let me down. I kept forgetting Daniel Radcliffe had ever been a YA novel wizard.

We had a huge storm here Friday night. Here and down at the river, too. Fun to watch from the porch :)
