Erev Christmas

Hurray! Steve feels better today. I also remembered those blood tests Mei-Mei had a couple of weeks ago and called the vet to say, "Hey! What happened?"

Well, according to the vet, Mei-Mei needs a little less insulin (which is good, but try pulling half a unit into a syringe!) and all her numbers for her liver, pancreas and kidneys look good. One of her kidney numbers is a *little* high, but for a ten year old kitty, she's doing very well!

I didn't use my inhaler before bed last night, nor on arising. I'm hoping to go running this afternoon.

What's on my whiteboard for today reads like something Advice Dog would say if Advice Dog were in the legal profession: Retool resume/Memorize filing deadlines. I need to be able to speak with more confidence during job interviews, so I dug my old Civil Procedures textbook out of storage along with a copy of the Code of Civil Procedure so I can study. I realize that during my accelerated paralegal course I was too busy to actually LEARN. Now that I have a year of broken-up experience under my belt, I'm able to read the textbook and have it make a whole lot more sense and sink in.

I also need to study federal rules.

Tomorrow will reveal how much Christmas gets celebrated chez nous. I might go to Mass, I might not. I haven't decided, which usually means I won't. On one hand, it feels weird to think that for the first time in 43 years I wouldn't go to Mass on Christmas. On the other hand, I kind of just don't care. My mom keeps pushing me to go on Sundays as "my quiet hour" but going to Mass is hardly a quiet hour. I'd rather just stay home and watch Tottenham lose again or something.

If Steve feels up to it and the weather isn't terrifying, we'll be in Orange County. I am looking forward to seeing scinnlaeca and eosin.

If you can't make it, we won't be mad. If you do come, about what time can we expect you?

Just fyi, money has been tight, but we can feed you if you're up here. I am making a ham tomorrow, we have veggie platter, cheese, etc. And we have mead. Or if you just want to see us, and not eat, that's fine. I'm not picky, mostly just want to see you.

Consider this icon, made because I haven't had enough sleep (my other half had to go to work early early), haven't had enough caffeine in my system yet, and I'm silly, to be a Yule present of sorts, just for you:

I had to.

Want to see you too. I'm not sure when we'll be over; it won't be very late.

Steve cannot eat pork and I plain old don't like ham, so no need to feed us. We do have a little gift for you two.

Love the icon. I'll put it up when I get a paid account.

OK. I would like some advance warning ;P because we, ourselves, are going to need to eat. However afternoon would be fine, I think. If you need to call me, feel free to do so. I will be here all day.

I feel bad because I have no present for you. But we have mead. ;)

It's going to be afternoon. I can't imagine we'll be at Steve's dad's any earlier than noon, and we'll need to spend a couple of hours there. We'll hit your place on the way back.

Steve says he likes mead WAY too much.

OK. Afternoon works for us.

We've been saving the last bottle of Andersen's for this occasion. (We got the inferior Chaucer's brand for regular Yule libations. Yes, really.)

You can has mead, but plz to be driving safely on roads.
